ABC Phonics Animals Free Lite -Talking & Spelling App Reviews

I was taught to sound consonants differently from the ones used in this app. For example, the letter "b" has one sound, not two. The "b" in this app is enunciated "b-uh". Using the consonant "b" used in this app as a guide, "bee" will sound like "Buber" (sadly, this difference is hard to make clear without demonstrating). The graphics are cute, but there are a couple of animals that are hard to identify because they are pretty abstract. If the sounds were more accurate I would buy this app anyway.

For a free app I am not going to complain, but it is a little pushy, but this is a test version, so it is okay to be pushy I guess. Nice pics

As mentioned by an earlier reviewer, this app is way off the mark when providing letter sounds for the words they provide. One would never use the word "ape" to teach the short a and e sounds. An ape is a weird choice for little kids anyway. Also, the animals are hard to identify. That "hawk" is the lamest bird of prey Ive ever seen. Overall, weak app. Even for free.

Sound could be clearer, animal sounds a little less scary.

This app is OK for being free. The letters are kind of small & in a font thats somewhat-difficult to read. Some of the animals are odd looking. Its entertaining enough for a download.

Its cute but not great. I have a 20mo old who already recognizes letters but the letters here are hard to read. If it was just a solid color itd be better. Then theres the capital letter and the lower-case spelling. Too confusing for somebody learning ABC. I think my older dd didnt do lowercase until preschool while she started her ABC at around two.

Educational and its free..however, it could be better.. A little bit confusing in the beginning and some without pictures.

Screenshots are misleading - the actual app has a big fat button to buy the full version on every screen, making it unsuitable for children. Easy uninstall.

The letters are way too close together for my son to touch the correct one

My two yr old is very smart but she couldnt understand why there was a monkey by A... Who teaches them ape at this age. Pics where ridiculous and didnt appreciate the big buy full version on every page, waste of time!! Dnt download!!

The free version shows "bird" & then sounds out each letter referencing the wrong sounds. It sounds out short i instead of r-controlled. It also misleads children by sounding out short o & short a for "goat."

A in ape is pronounced as a in hat??? This app appears to be made by non native speakers of english. Also bad interface and big ad easy for kids to hit. Terrible!!!
